Abstract
This article presents a comprehensive scholarly examination of British cultural traditions and holidays, exploring their historical origins, sociocultural significance, and contemporary relevance within the context of national identity formation. Drawing upon established theoretical frameworks, including Hobsbawm and Ranger's concept of “invented tradition” and Anderson's notion of “imagined communities,” the study investigates how customs such as Christmas, Easter, Bonfire Night, Remembrance Sunday, and royal ceremonies function as instruments of collective memory and social cohesion.
