Annotatsiya

This study investigates the differences between electronic and traditional dictionaries in foreign language learning through a classroom-based experimental design. The research focuses on their impact on students’ translation speed, task performance, and engagement during vocabulary-related activities. The study was conducted with seventh-grade students divided into a control group (traditional dictionaries) and an experimental group (electronic dictionaries). Both groups completed the same translation task under identical conditions. The results show that students using electronic dictionaries completed the task significantly faster and demonstrated higher engagement compared to those using traditional dictionaries. The findings suggest that electronic dictionaries enhance learning efficiency, while traditional dictionaries support more careful lexical processing. The study concludes that combining both types of dictionaries can improve vocabulary learning outcomes in language education.
